【Report】 We held a workshop for schools participating in the 48-hour contest on April 13-14!

The finals of the 2024 National University 48-Hour Virtual Production Contest are scheduled to take place from May 18th to 20th. To help participating schools prepare better for the finals, two offline workshops were held on April 13th and 14th, targeting teams that advanced to the finals nationwide. These workshops aimed to provide training on virtual production techniques with the assistance of industry experts.

The workshops, held in Beijing and Hangzhou, attracted over 80 participants, including students and faculty members, who actively engaged in asking questions and exchanging opinions. The workshops received high praise from participants upon their conclusion.

The Beijing workshop, hosted at the Sony Imaging Technology Academy in Chaoyang District, Beijing, received technical and venue support from Sony (China) Limited. On the first day, Mr. Deng Yu, Deputy Director of the CG Digital Art Committee of the China Film Art Society, shared insights on "Virtual Production: From Form to Content." Additionally, Mr. Zhao Mingqiu, Deputy Director of Innovation Solution Marketing at Sony (China), delivered a lecture on "Adjustment of LED Virtual Shooting Systems" and conducted on-site demonstrations for students. Mr. Huang Yufeng, Technical Marketing Manager at Aputure, shared his expertise on "Application of LED Lighting in Virtual Production." Furthermore, Mr. Mi Chunlin, Founder of YOUVFX and Digital Mican, provided in-depth analysis on "Application Examples of Virtual Production."

On the second day, Mr. Li Qiang, Virtual Production Technology Director at Xianrui Film and Television Production (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., spoke on "Processing and Workflow of Virtual Production Assets." Mr. Si Lin, Technical Art Director at the same company, shared insights on "Artistic Design and Rendering Effects of Virtual Production Assets." Mr. Liu Bowen, Product Manager at Beijing Yuankefangzhou Technology Co., Ltd., analyzed case studies on "Application of Light Field Technology in Virtual Production." Additionally, Mr. Guo Xiang, Planning Manager at Brompton Technology Co., Ltd., introduced the topic of "LED Video Processing System VP/XR."

The Hangzhou workshop, held at Hangzhou Wannian Yingli Studio, received technical and facility support from Hangzhou Wannian Yingli Technology Co., Ltd. On the first day, Mr. Wang Chen, Technical Director at Hangzhou Wannian Yingli Technology Co., Ltd., delivered an opening speech encouraging participating teams to create outstanding works using virtual production technology. Mr. Li Weiqi, Solution Expert at Beijing Yuankefangzhou Technology Co., Ltd., shared practical experiences and advancements in VP shooting technology. Mr. Wang Wei, Solution Manager at Aputure, delivered a lecture on "Application of LED Lighting in Virtual Production."

On the following day, Mr. Tao Renxian, CTO of Yuedu Digital Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., spoke on "Virtual Production Environment: From Concept to Scene Construction." Mr. Li Jiansong, Calibration Engineering Manager at Brompton Technology Co., Ltd., shared insights on "LED Video Processing System and VP/XR."

The two-day workshops provided rich and comprehensive content, with speakers sharing theoretical introductions, practical experiences, and case analyses. The workshops received high praise from participants. The national competition will take place in May, and we look forward to seeing each team produce outstanding works and achieve remarkable results.
